The beaches of Lanzarote are famous for the black lava sand… Yes BLACK LAVA SAND. Sounds pretty cool, right? Lanzarote also has beautiful white beaches, some of which include Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise and the beautiful Papagayo.
One of the first characteristics that most people think of when they think of Lanzarote is the architectural style that was derived from the brilliant mind of Cesar Manrique. He ensured that all hotels should not be higher than three stories and that the frames portray the colors green, blue or brown.
Tips to find cheap flights to Lanzarote:

* Book your tickets online – When you book your tickets by phone you will often be forced to pay a surcharge.

The Capital City of Arrecife
Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote on the east coast of the island, has a population of around 45,000. Arrecife is a nice quiet town where you can stroll along the harbor and the El Charco de San Gines district has a charming fishing lagoon off the main shopping town of Arrecife.
Culture buffs should not miss a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Arrecife Lanzarote. This museum is located in the 18th century Castillo de San Jose. You’ll find mostly artwork crafted by Canary artists.
Playa Blanca
Playa Blanca is a quaint town on the south coast of Lanzarote with beautiful beaches. Playa Blanca was originally a fishing village that gradually grew into the nice little town it is today.
In the old center of Playa Blanca are many shops, restaurants and cafes. Most restaurants are located on Playa Dorada, the promenade of Playa Blanca Beach Avenue.
Good thing is that this is the sunny side of Lanzarote. Oddly enough, they say that if dark clouds hang in the North – sun often still shines here! Playa Blanca is approximately 30 miles from the airport and 35 km from the capital Arrecife.
Popular activities for the sports-minded
The coast of Lanzarote has plenty to offer for water sports enthusiasts. Sailing, diving, water skiing, windsurfing and kite surfing are among the many activities visitors like to enjoy.
Diving in Lanzarote is very beautiful and due to the volcanic nature of the island, something that not every diver will get to experience in their lifetime. In Puerto del Carmen, you can dive at Safari Diving in Playa Blanca and you can choose from the diving schools Dive College Lanzarote and Free Dolphin Diving. Lanzarote attracts many surfers, too. The most favorite spot for windsurfing is Costa Teguise.
For a game of golf, there is the favorite Golf Club Costa Teguise. The Club has a truly beautifully situated 18 hole golf course. The green fee at the Costa Teguise Golf is €65.
Of course, you don’t have to be one who loves to partake in sports and active activities like this. You can always just relax on the beach, enjoy shopping and take in the different sight-seeing opportunities. Personally, I download some music with Ares and chill on the beach while I’m visiting.

The other nice site to visit in London city is the Women’s Library, which has a great collection of books and a reading book open to the public. Also interesting is Wilton’s Music Hall, which is the oldest grand music hall in the city. It is a venue for many events like theatre and opera, concerts and guided tours. In case that you are tired from multiplexes and nostalgic for the old time movie going, then the Secret Cinema is a great place to check. The Secret Cinema changes the venues and plays interesting movies with interesting live installations. To make thing even more interesting, the organizers do not reveal the film until the time of the movie starts.
Another interesting site are the Chilsehurst Caves, which are close to Bromley. The underground caves form a huge maze. There is a guide as well.
